Heaven Can Wait Animal Society is bringing beer, food and a silent auction to Henderson's Water Street district on Thursday, Nov. 5, to raise money for low-cost spay and neuter services and its community cat program.

The nonprofit's second annual "Ales for Tails" fundraiser runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lovelady Brewing Company, 20 S. Water St., according to KLAS-TV. Advance tickets cost $55.20 through Eventbrite. Tickets at the door are $65. Attendees must be 21 or older.

Each ticket covers an open bar of Lovelady brews, catered bites from Juan's Flaming Fajitas & Cantina, five raffle tickets and access to a silent auction, KLAS reported.

That auction features more than 40 items, according to the event's Eventbrite listing. Donated prizes include staycations, entertainment packages and gift cards from businesses such as Resorts World Las Vegas, The Venetian, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Topgolf and Treasure Island. Some opening bids start as low as $20.

Proceeds go toward the organization's low-cost spay and neuter services and its trap-neuter-vaccinate-return program for community cats, according to KLAS. Since 2000, Heaven Can Wait has performed more than 220,000 spay and neuter surgeries across Southern Nevada, the station reported.

Founder Harold Vosko started the organization to reduce euthanasia of cats and dogs in Las Vegas-area shelters, according to the group's website. Heaven Can Wait says it is one of the only clinics in Las Vegas serving community cats.

The nonprofit also offers vaccinations and microchipping at low cost, according to its event page.

Businesses or individuals interested in sponsoring the event or donating auction items can contact Kelly Sheehan at [email protected], according to the event page.

Free parking is available at the brewery.
